Recruiting, and more

For those of you who don't follow recruiting, Penn State's literally lighting up the boards recently with a couple of high profile recruits. Pat Devlin (5th ranked QB in the country) switched his commitment from Miami after they fired a slew of coaches (don't fire coaches after losing seasons!), and the Nittany Lions just picked up the 5th ranked offensive lineman, Antonio Logan-El. There's whispers that Vidal Hazelton, the 2nd ranked wide receiver in the country, might be reconsidering USC now that Pat Devlin is coming to PSU. That would be a huge coup for Penn State.

All in all, Penn State now ranks 5th at Rivals.com's rankings, top in the Big Ten, and just shy of Notre Dame, who's also having a great year thanks to Weis and their Fiesta Bowl appearance. Scout.com ranks Penn State 6th, still top in the Big Ten, and with a sizable lead over Ohio State.

Great news for the future at Penn State. As the Nittany Blog stated, those who are expecting Penn State to return to doormat status will be sorely disappointed.
